A maximum of 80 students are admitted in class VI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya ,Almatti Dam Site subject to the availability of suitable candidates. These students are admitted on the basis of a selection test called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) conducted throughout the country preferably on the second Sunday of February of every year.
How to apply for JNVST
1. Who is eligible for appearing in the JNST.
A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in class V for the whole academic session in a Government / Government Aided or other recognized schools of Bijapur District. A candidate must be within the age group between 9 to 13 years. A candidate claiming admission from rural quota must have studied and passed classes III, IV and V from a Govt./Govt. Aided / Recognized School in the preceding three years spending one academic session each year in a school located in rural area of the district without any repetition of class , gap and break in attendance
2. How to get an application form ?
Application forms for admission may be made on the prescribed Application form available free of cost from :
Block Education Officer (BEO)
Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI)
Headmaster of any Govt./ Govt. aided / Recognised /Accredited Institute /Centre of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan / NIOS where he/she is studying.

3. How to submit filled in application form .
Dully filled in application form must reach the Block Education Officer latest by the date mentioned in the brochure of the application form. It shall be signed by the Head of the institution where the child is studying in class V .
4. Issue of Admit cards
Admit cards will be issued to the candidates through the office of the Block Education Officer . Candidates who do not receive their admit card one week before the JNVST , they should immediately contact the Principal JNV/BEO/DDPI for the same.
5. Centre of Examination.
Centre of the examination is preferably the Head Quarters of a particular Block including JNV Almatti Dam Site. The Principal JNV Almatti D.S reserves the right for allotting the examination centres. A candidate who is allotted a particular centre by the Principal JNV shall not be changed under any circumstances.
6. Language of examination:
The language/ medium of examination is the medium through which the candidate is studying in Class V
